So let’s get started:
What Are SEO Content Strategies?
Every business wants to get high traffic on their websites. So, to fully achieve this, many businesses have started using different SEO strategies.
And one of the most common search engine optimization strategies is enhancing the quality of your website’s content.
Plus, in a market full of competition, a content SEO strategy is the surest way to separate your website from the pack and gain your customers’ attention.
For any website…
It is obvious that it should have a well-structured design, smooth functioning, and a great user experience… but without quality content, there’s no chance for your website to beat your competition in the SERPs.
So, the content SEO strategy is the process of organizing the content of a website in order to increase the possibility that it may show up in search results. Moreover, it’s the procedure you adhere to in order to optimize your chances of receiving organic traffic from search engines.
In fact, it is found that websites that upload regular content get a wide range of incoming traffic…
By this, you might get to know how important it is to post regularly. Not just posting but firstly crafting SEO-optimized content.
And this is why Google considers CONTENT as one of the most crucial ranking factors. In fact, I, myself publish content on my website regularly to enhance my rankings and drive more traffic.
And after implementing this content SEO strategy, my website got around 1,04,000 unique visitors every month.
With this, it takes us to a question, why is it important to create optimized content?
Why There’s A Need To Have SEO Content?
The reasons are quite clear…Google, which is the king of all search engines, gets around 8.5 billion searches per day. That is a massive amount!
With queries, come the search results. So, Google comes up with some of the best, most useful, and relevant results to those queries, and these useful and relevant search results contain the content and information answering those queries.
If Google ranks a website up in the search results, then obviously that particular website’s content or information would be best suited to the query entered in the search box by the users.
And this is why having a content that is SEO optmized is so important.
But here you must ask, how can Google know that particular content is SEO optimized and should be ranked for any keyword? For this, refer to the image below…
See, when the above-listed elements are present in your content, then the value of your content automatically rises.
Plus, another reason to implement a content SEO strategy is to improve your website’s RANKINGS.
High-quality and SEO-optimized content would enable Google to mark your website as trustworthy and credible, as Google might find your information correct and relevant to the search query and may ultimately make your website rank higher.
Some other reasons to build an SEO strategy to make content optimization an important part of SEO are:
Increased Click Through Rates:
One of the crucial factors in Google’s rankings is the CTR, the more users click on your website, more be the chances of your website ranking higher.
Generates High-Quality Backlinks:
Obtaining high-quality backlinks from authoritative websites is one of the finest SEO strategies. Google considers high-quality backlinks as a sign of trust. This means that the more high-quality backlinks your website has, the more likely it is to rank higher on Google.
Enhances User Experience:
The fact is that the user experience of any website is driven by its content. You can adequately enhance the user experience with your website design or graphics, but the core depends on the quality of your content.
Referring to this, they say, “First impression is the last impression”, So, it all depends upon how well your content appears in front of the users to enhance their experience.

List form SEO content can go up to 2000 words and everybody likes short-form blogs that are easy to read and quickly gets over…
Content in the form of lists is much easier to scan and remember for a longer period of time. Here’s an example of a list form search results…
It involves steps or ways such as, “10 Ways To Rank Higher on Google” and “5 Tips To Write Meta Titles”
But here, make sure to conduct thorough research if you want to create a list that people might find interesting. It would also be wonderful to be clever about it. Make it as thorough as you can, and if you can extend it, do so.

A guide is a lengthy piece of information that provides thorough instructions on how to perform a task. For example, see How To Perform Keyword Research: An In-Depth Guide or A Definitive Guide To Voice Search.

Although many people adore reading the written text, more people now favor reading information that is easier for them to digest. And with infographics, you can enhance the overview of the topics.
One fine example of the infographic form of SEO-friendly content that I used in my blog post is given below.
With this, let us now jump on to the main topic of this blog… ways to create a well optmized content that ranks higher.
But before diving in, watch out for this amazing video “Hacks To Create Compelling SEO Content”
Best SEO Content Strategies To Rank Higher
Identify Your Audience & Their Pain Points
Here’s the first content SEO strategy to start with: identifying your audience and their pain points.
First, actually, get to know who are your viewers, it is not like you would be creating content for anyone. Or, what if you create content for marketers, but that particular content is searched by other users?
This is why you need to identify the main target audience, their needs, their interests, and their pain points…
The most effective way to come up with content ideas is by developing buyer personas…
Personas can help identify the kinds of online material that your target client looks for when they aren’t looking for your product or service. Look below,
Ready to create a buyer persona to identify the right audience? Here’s a quick video that would help you in creating one.
Also, let me make it simple for you… For example, if my target audience has an eCommerce Shopify website and wants to increase their conversion, what I would do is go for SEO-friendly content writing and create amazing content that is optimized on that topic for them. Like this,
That is how you identify what your users need and require. Moreover, this is how your content strategy would help you provide the right information, as there would be clarity for you about what to offer, and ultimately, your content would rank higher on Google.
With this, the next and one of the most important content writing SEO strategies that I am going to discuss here is… listing out the topics through keyword research.
Go For Keyword Research & List A Few Broad Terms
See, to find the keywords, you have to go for keyword research, which is a very wide topic to explain now… But l am surely going to tell you the basics.
You just have to brainstorm and come up with a few broad terms that best suit your website’s niche.
These terms can be the keywords too…! But there’s more work to do
Let’s consider my own website’s example again… I have a digital media marketing agency, and for my audience, the topics I could list can be:
- eCommerce SEO
- Web development SEO
- SEO services,
- Link-building services, and many more topics.
Now, just put these terms into some keyword research tools to find more related search queries that people are looking for. To name a few, they are: SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Keyword Planner, and many more are available.
In the image below, let me show you how you can list out the keywords for creating SEO content.
After inserting the keyword, “link building SEO services,” I got a bunch of keywords to write content around. Plus here, you would see some metrics such as Search Volume, Keyword Difficulty, Traffic Potential, etc.
With this, I got to know that this particular keyword has a difficulty level of 56% (which is considered easy to rank for) and a search volume of around 800.
So I can use this keyword in my content. But it is not like having a single keyword may work, it can happen that users might search for other related terms.
For that, you can list a few more keywords similar to the main keyword that you can use in creating the content. Like this,
In the same way, you can find out keywords for each broad term.
Important Note:
Remember, targeting keywords with high search volume would be of no benefit. Always try to target keywords that have a good amount of search volume and that have a lower keyword difficulty.
For example, if a keyword has a monthly search volume of 15,000 and a KD of 80 then it would be difficult for you to rank for that keyword. Whereas a keyword that may have a higher search volume but is less competitive, the chances are high that you can easily rank higher for that keyword.
High search volume and high KD are a very big no-no, but the higher volume and lower KD are the cherries on the cake. For this, you can target long-tailed keywords, which is our next content SEO strategy.
One another fine way to come up with the best-suited keywords is by looking at your competitors…
Simply enter the link to your competitor’s article into the tool to see what keywords they are using, and then create content that gives more value to see how you can improve your existing content by including those keywords.
Let us not forget what to discuss…
Go For Listing Long-Tailed Keywords
Long-tail keywords are terms that users search for in order to find specific information.
For example, a keyword like “Dog Food” could be difficult to rank, as it may happen that most of your competitors would be using that keyword and trying to rank for it. Using the keyword “how to make healthy dog food at home,” you can create content that would be much easier to rank for.
How? Let me tell you with an image…
As you can see, though the search volume of the keyword “Dog Food” is as high as 153,000, the KD is also high, which makes this keyword highly difficult.
And the keyword “how to healthy make dog food at home” which may have a lesser search volume but with that, the KD is also low which makes it with using in your SEO content.
This is the reason why you must identify long-tailed keywords whenever you create SEO content.
By doing this, you would be more specific, and chances are high that people looking for specific services can find you in the SERPs. This may lead to increased click-through rates.
Now that we are almost halfway to knowing a few content strategies and you have listed a bunch of keywords, now is the time to actually start writing content that is SEO optimized.
Write A Piece Of Content For Each Keyword Keeping Users In Mind
It is time to create a fine form of SEO content that ranks higher and drives more and more readers.
Herein, you can go for creating a separate page for each topic just like this.
See how I dedicated a separate page for each keyword. See, it can be very difficult to rank one page for a few keywords when it comes to websites and search engine rankings.
But when creating separate pages for each keyword, it might enhance your visibility on SERPs and people would easily find your website and the relevant information they require.
In the case of blogs, see how I did that!
I wrote a blog two months ago, which was…
Next, after a month I covered another related topic, namely:
And again blogs related to speed optimization and Shopify conversions. This was done to ensure that instead of using keywords I identified during keyword research in one blog, I create content over and over again.
This would make each page unique in its own way and would really help search engines to rank you higher whenever users employ the keyword in the search bar.
When talking about writing SEO-friendly content, keeping users in mind is the most crucial element of a website to have a positive effect…
For that, you always have to create content that satisfies the intent of the users. You have to design your content so that users can find the required information easily.
To learn about intent, here’s another blog that would take you through the basics of search intent.

Optimize Each And Every Element
This is separated into three main categories:
1. On-Page SEO
The methods you employ on your website to improve search engines’ understanding of your content and ranking are referred to as “On-Page SEO.”
To start with, in addition to maintaining a well-organized and keyword-focused website, you can improve on-page optimization with a number of factors.
They are:
- Optimizing meta tags, HTML tags (Meta Title and Meta Description)
- Including compelling CTA buttons

2. Off-Page SEO
Activities from or “behind the scenes” of your website are included in off-page SEO. Off-page SEO concentrates on increasing authority through SEO strategies such as link building, content marketing SEO strategy, local SEO, online reviews, etc.
This is because search engines consider websites with a higher authority to be more reliable, relevant, and trustworthy, and thus they rank higher than those with little or no authority.
And to achieve this, make sure that you create high-quality SEO content that has the capability to draw the interest of trustworthy websites and can result in the development of relationships between your website and others.
3. Technical SEO
Technical issues are the points that affect your website’s functioning. When it comes to creating optimized content and relating it to technical SEO, it all comes down to how easy your content is to scan on your website.
Search engine crawlers get to work whenever you publish anything on your website. This means if your website isn’t ranking and isn’t driving any traffic, then there’s something not going so well inside your website.
One of the common issues reported is:
Slow Site Speed
When creating a content strategy, the most crucial part is reviewing the content. You can determine which pages are already working well in terms of user interaction by analyzing the site’s present content.
Plus, this can also generate an undertaking for the technical SEO of your website.
For example, you shouldn’t always think that the content is poor if a page has a very high bounce rate. Instead, it might be having a problem with page speed.
6. Work According To Your Content Calendar
It is not like that once you have created a piece of SEO-optimized content, published it on your website, and you are done… NO!
See, if you want to rank higher and maintain that ranking throughout, then you have to post regularly. This could be a really effective SEO and content strategy to follow.
For that, you can look for a content calendar. It is obvious that you must have a streamlined content structure to offer your viewers the best and most qualitative content.
This is because as the website grows, management gets more difficult. The same goes for content. So, maintaining a content calendar can ease your work and make everything organized.
Well, this is what Google takes into consideration… which means how updated and consistent you are in posting content regularly. This would surely build authority, and ultimately, search engines like Google may rank you higher in the SERPs.
Develop A Link Building Strategy
Link Building; One of the most common and crucial Off Page SEO factors is all about attracting links that point toward your website. This is the process of getting other websites to link back to your website.
So, it depends on how creative and unique you can be when creating SEO content to make other websites link back to your website. After all, it is the content that would drive traffic to your website and also keep your visitors engaged.
Now, let us keep the content part aside and focus on how you can develop a link-building strategy to improve your website’s search engine rankings.
And here’s a fact: Around 58% of SEO experts consider link building one of the most important aspects of search engine optimization and rankings.
Perhaps, you can opt for several different link-building methods, namely guest posting, the skyscraper technique, and HARO (Help a Reporter Out).
You can also create long forms of content to generate more backlinks to your website. Refer to the image below…
Also, you can promote your content via social media platforms (coming up next).
Promote Your SEO Content On Social Media
For this, you first have to identify the best platform to share your content.
It is obvious that not every social media platform is best for sharing your material. In order to reach the largest audience possible, it’s critical to pick the appropriate social media platforms to post your content on.
Let’s say, for example, that sharing blog content on Twitter might be effective, as this social media site is recognized for spreading links. Whereas Pinterest and YouTube are better suited for sharing visual content, it would be preferable to share infographics or videos on such platforms.
As soon as you know which platform is best suited to promote your content, start promoting it.
Sharing and promoting informative and interesting content on social media platforms would increase traffic to your website, demonstrate to Google that it is a reliable resource, and may increase your rankings.
Update Your SEO Content Regularly
With the ongoing and updated trends in the SEO world, you have to keep updating your content. This is because Google is updating its algorithm, and you have to keep up with the updates.
But here you may ask, why there is a need to update content?
The reasons are simple: no traffic, poor rankings, a higher bounce rate, etc. are some ways that indicate that there’s a need to upskill your SEO strategy and enhance the quality of your content.
Coming up with new variations in your SEO content strategy would make you stand out from the rest of the competition.
For this, you have to regularly update your content…

Going for such SEO strategies and updating your content on a regular basis would really help with better rankings, more traffic, and even higher conversions.
Evaluate Your Performance
You’ll have to know whether your approach to writing SEO content is effective or not because it might take a lot of time and effort.
For this, you have to keep a regular check on your performance and accordingly identify what all improvements are needed.

By measuring the performance, you would have a better insight into whether the strategy you implemented has successfully worked and driven results or not.
