We Can Divide SEO Campaign Management Into 3 Parts
Here are the 3 important parts of SEO campaign management:
Research Conduction
Before you even go with SEO campaign management, you need to conduct research. This is the base of your SEO campaign management.
And, here are the areas you need to conduct research on:
1. Keyword Research
2. Competitor Analysis
3. Your Target Audience
4. SEO Ranking Factors
Let’s discuss each of them.
1. Keyword Research
Of course, Keyword research is the base of any SEO campaign. You need to find out which keywords would be beneficial for you to rank.
It is not that much difficult. Let me explain
i. Make a broad list of the terms relevant to your topic
First of all, you need to find the search terms your target audience might use to search for your product or services.
Here you can use, Google Keyword planner, Google SERP, or Ahrefs – the keyword explorer
Or, you can also brainstorm ideas about the search terms that your audience may use.
ii. Find related search terms
The second thing that you need to do is, you need to find the related terms to that keyword, which could be your secondary keyword and LSI (Latent Semantic Index) keyword.
It is also very easy to do. There are lots of tools available on the internet that you may use.
iii. Analyze the strength of your keywords
So, you have got the list of keywords your target audience may be searching on the internet to find your website, product, or services.
But, here comes an important role of the competition and volume of the keyword.
The volume stands for how many people are searching for that keyword in SERP, and competition refers to an average no. of websites competing to rank on that keyword.
So, you need to choose your keyword wisely.
The keyword that has a higher volume and lower KD (competition) would be better.
Sometimes, they are difficult to find, but with the right guidance and tools, you can easily find your suitable target keyword.
iv. Determine how you rank in your industry
The next thing is, you need to check what kind of keywords your website is already ranking on. Check out your keyword performance.
Now, you might be wondering, “but, why the hell am I asking you to do so?”
The reason behind this is, the volume and competition of your already ranking keywords would tell you what metrics you can choose for your selected keywords.
2. Competitor Analysis
SEO competitor analysis is the competitive analysis that you perform on your competitors’ websites. You check out their strength and weakness and see how they can benefit you in your business.
The Main 2 things that you can analyze are their, content strategy and their market share.
i. Content Strategy
Check their on-site content. In that, you can check out the type of content they are using on their website and apply the same content strategy to your website.
For example, check out what kind of blogs they have written and apply them too on your blog post.
Let me show you how I do it… I take the website URL of my competitor and run it on Ahrefs.
I analyzed the web page of one of my competitors and found out the keywords his web page is ranking on …
From here, I can select the keyword to create my next blog or content.
That’s how I create my content strategy.

ii. Market share
Check out what market share your competitor is holding and analyze what percentage of share you can hold. Then, make a strategy for your share of the market.
3. Your Target Audience
Defining your target audience is as important as the research conduction process for SEO campaign management.
The reason why I am saying so is that, when you have defined your target audience, you can give them a personalized user experience.
When you have a comprehensive understanding of your ideal buyer, you know what kind of decision they are going to make, and what kind of message you need to convey.
And the most shocking thing is, $37 billion is wasted in ad spending every year from ads that fail to engage the target audience.
I am sure, you don’t want to be one of those who have wasted billions of dollars. Right?
But, to define your target audience, you must create a buyer persona. Buyer personas are extremely helpful if you have products for a wide range of audiences. The personas of your audience will help you define the demographics, personalities, needs, desires, and pain points of your target audience.
Check out the template below:
Now, you might be wondering, if buyer personas are created on the basis of assumption.
But, it’s not like that. Buyer personas are never based on assumption but it is completely based on our research work on our target audience and the research is based on data, surveys, digital engagement, or any other information that you may use for your target audience.
This may also include their hobby, likes, dislikes, age, favorite websites or television shows, and many other things.

1. Optimizing The Mobile Experience
Do you know, according to a survey conducted in November 2022, 59.9% of traffic comes from the mobile on Google?
You must understand that it is no longer enough to have a website friendly only for laptops, desktops, or tablets. You need to be more focused on the mobile experience.
And, you must know that Google has already switched to mobile-first indexing. Google will index your website for mobile first.
So, you must understand, any issue on your website can cost you high on mobile conversion.
So, the first thing that you need to do is to run the mobile-friendly test.
We have a free mobile-friendliness test is available on Google.
Once you run your website here, all the mobile friendliness issues that your websites may have would come up before you.
Also, you should test your website format on the most popular mobile phones.

2. Page Speed Enhancement
People don’t like waiting for a website to load, load, and load… they want quick results. They want the page to open as soon as they click on it.
Also, it is a Google ranking factor. Google prioritizes websites with good page load speed.
To check your page load speed and find the bottleneck of the issue, you can use some free online page speed checker, like, Pingdom Website Speed Test, or Google’s Pagespeed Insights.
It will crawl your website and find out the issues that your website may have. Some of the most common issues for page speed are, uncompressed JS and CSS files, no CDN, no page caching for CMS-powered sites, and large, unoptimized image files.
It may take some time to improve, but trust me the efforts are worth it.
3. Search Engine Optimization
Then, comes the most important element for website optimization, i.e., search engine optimization.
Optimizing your website for organic ranking is more results-oriented and powerful than running PPC ads. Not only to get high traffic but to make people trust you more because of organic rankings.
The first step towards SEO is checking if your website is getting indexed properly…
You can use Google Search Console to check the indexing of all of your pages.
When you have checked GSC and made sure there is no indexing issue at all, then comes the next step to implement the SEO on your website
For that, we have divided SEO into mainly 4 parts
On-page SEO
Off-page SEO

4. Website Copy
Let me start this point with the help of an example…
Just adding a single word to the headline has increased conversion by 89.97%.
The words you use on your website matter more than you can think. Design, images, and layout, all matter, but your words are the only thing that can convey your message to the user.
So, basically, you should write content very carefully. Make them take action on your website. Play with words and make them stick to your website only.
And the best way to play with words is bucket brigade. A bucket brigade is a technique you can use to make your user stay on your website and read your content till the end.
Or, you can also use heatmaps to know where your audience likes to stay and from where they bounce back from the site.
Once you have found out where you have a weak copy, try to improve them to make it more appealing.
5. A/B Testing
A/B testing is also a part of SEO. with A/B testing you come to know which variation is deriving results.
Let me explain:
Let’s say one of your landing pages on the website is driving a low conversion rate. Now, you thought the problem could be with your CTA button, so you changed the CTA button and then analyzed the conversion rate.
You have noticed a slightly higher conversion when you implemented the new CTA button?
What does it resemble? It shows that the new CTA button has brought results. And you were right to change the CTA button.
But, on the other hand, if the conversion rate drops, then you would know, you haven’t identified the right problem.
That’s how you can perform A/B testing on the other elements of your website and see which variation is driving desired results.

6. Enhance User Experience
Most eCommerce and small business websites often avoid the user experience and focus only on SEO and CRO (Conversion rate optimization) rather, they should work on improving the user experience on their site.
Having a smoother website can make a huge difference.
You can retain a higher number of visitors to your site, once you have optimized the website in such a way. That’s how you can make the visited users come back to your site again and again.
You can improve the UX by following the steps given below:
- Simplify ease of use
- Anticipate Customer Needs
- Optimize for Faster Load Time
- Ensure Actionable & Attractive Call to Action
- Use White Space
- Catch 404 Error
- Maintain Visual and Typographic Hierarchies
So, now we have learned all the main 6 steps to optimize the website. So, now let’s learn about the 3rd part of SEO campaign management.
Report & Analyze
This is another important step to managing your SEO strategy through the report and analyzing your results.
With reporting and analysis only, we can measure the SEO efforts results. The results are the way to check out if our SEO campaign strategy has worked or not.
You can create reports monthly or quarterly to track organic leads and traffic. After that, you can check out which strategy has brought rankings, and traffic improved, so that you may stick to those SEO strategies for the future!
To make a report and analyze the results, you first need to track the results.
To track the results, you need to track:
- Organic website traffic
- Search result rankings
- Conversions
- Leads
1. Organic Website Traffic
You need to check how much organic traffic you have grown. The reason why it is important is that this is the base of any website. To get leads and conversion through your website, you must first have website traffic, and that too, organic.
This is very simple to track. You can use GSC (Google Search Console) to check growth in the traffic and you can even compare the previous months and last month to each other to know how much growth your website has taken.
Also, you can track the CTR, impressions, and rankings of your website pages.
This doesn’t finish here. You can also use Google Analytics to check the bounce rate of your site and conversion rate.
That’s how you will get to know what you have already improved and what more you need to do.

2. Search Result Rankings
The next thing you need to track is the position of your web pages. Of course, the rankings are important. People click on web pages that rank higher on SERP.
And they don’t go beyond page 1. Right?
So, that means, the higher rankings you have, the more chance you have to have higher CTR, which would ultimately lead to higher conversion.
So, check out the position of your web page position through GSC.
And, then you can work on improving those search results rankings.
3. Conversions
Check out how many conversions you have got. For that, you can use Google Analytics to measure your conversions.
When you have got the data about conversions, you can know the improvements that you have made along with the areas that you need to improve.
4. Leads
Track how many leads you have gotten from the traffic you receive every day.
