What Is An SEO Campaign?
Simply defined:
An SEO campaign is run while having a specific objective in mind.
It may include strategies like keyword research, content audit, On-page optimization, link building, and many more.
On the other hand, regular SEO is just an SEO process without any specific goal.
The main goal of the SEO campaign strategy is to improve search engine rankings.
Also, 64% of marketers actively run effective SEO campaigns because it helps them hit their KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
It tends to be a very cost-effective solution.
How To Run An SEO Campaign?
In order to achieve long-term success in SEO, you must know how to run an SEO campaign.
It’s not only about how to run an SEO campaign but also about knowing all the steps while running an SEO campaign.
Given below are all the steps to running an effective SEO campaign strategy.
Set KPIs & Goals
It is the very first step before setting up an SEO campaign strategy. To know the goals and KPIs of your campaign.
If you don’t know the definition of success for yourself, how are you going to achieve that?
So, in order to measure the whole SEO campaign, you must track them.
Now, you might be wondering: I simply want more traffic…
It is not the traffic that is your goal…
But… how much traffic in what period of time you want is your actual goal.
I hope you have got the point about what kind of goals you need to set up.
Now, you might be wondering: how am I going to do that?
Well, I have a simple answer to that.
Let me explain below…
Do you know that Google keeps a record of the search history of its users and then shows them results on the basis of their preferences?
This is exactly what you need to do.
You need to keep track of the users on your website… You need to know how the users are behaving on your website. Whether they like your content or engage with your website.
These are the best KPIs to measure for SEO campaign strategy..
To get this data, you can use free tools like Google search console or Google Analytics, and now you can even use a new version of Google Analytics, i.e., GA4.
If you wish to create a next-level goal, you can even use Google Tag Manager.
Let me help you in creating KPIs:
You can create such goals and KPIs
- Increase the web traffic by 50%.
- Enhance home page session by 25%
- Improve organic sessions by 70%.
Find The Right Keywords
The next step to a successful SEO campaign strategy is finding significant keywords relevant to your site and niche…
The keywords need to be found and short-listed to create better content and change the existing content on the website.
In order to get the right keywords for your website, you must know how to perform keyword research.
To perform keyword research, you can use tools like Ahrefs-the keyword explorer, and SEMrush.
Now, you need to come up with the topics you want to run a campaign for.
You need to think and find as many relevant topics as possible for your website.
To get such topics to run an SEO campaign strategy for, you can ask these questions to yourself:
- What products or services are your customers looking for?
- What do you offer your customers?
- What message do you want to convey to your customers?
- What topics do you wish to write about?
Once you have got the list, narrow it down as much as possible.
Keep only topics you think are really helpful to your target audience.
Once you have found the topics, it’s time to perform keyword research and get the keywords you want your website to rank for.
Above, I have already mentioned the tools for keyword research.
Once, you have a list of keywords, narrow it down too and choose only a handful of keywords.
Here, you need to choose keywords with high search volume and lower Keyword Difficulty.
And, you are done!
Create A Page Title
So, you are done with the keyword research. Right?
Now, let’s create a page title…

But… before that, you need to understand some things…

- Check out the results that have appeared on your SERP.
- Now, create a title that is much more appealing than the titles being shown to you.
Let’s say, I search for, in title: “SEO campaign example”…
There are only 21 results available on Google, which means, this keyword is easier to rank.
To make the title more interesting for your user, you can use words like,

Well, no issues! Here we have, Step-by-Step Content Creation Guide [Writing to Publishing Content Successfully]
This is a definitive guide to content creation, from writing to publishing.
Here are some points that would help you create a high ranking content:
Make Better Content:
The first thing that you need to consider to publish great content is that you need to make better content.
Your content must be better than the content available on Google…
Then only it will rank!!!
Observe the content available on Google and think about how you can make your content better than theirs.
Think about what a user might like to see for that particular keyword.
And then, deliver the things.
Write In-depth Content:
Many recent studies have shown that in-depth content tends to show up more in organic searches.
There are hundreds of pages that rank in SERP for the chosen keywords.
So, how are you going to rank?
The answer is simple:
Let me explain…
Write in-depth content that explains all and makes sense to the user…
This will definitely help!!!
Keep Transparency
Don’t hide any important information from the user…
By important information, I mean add affiliate links in your blog post if required.
It builds trust in the eyes of the user.
As you can see in the image below:
This is one of a blog published on my website…
Here, I am providing a statement to my users and I proved my point by providing an external link on the blog…
That’s how my audience will trust me!
Along with this, always show the info and photographs of the author so that the user may contact him if needed.
Show Your Face!!
Prove the statements you are making in the blog post with the actual data.
Show Your Authority and Expertise
When we talk about authority and expertise, there also comes a Google algorithm, i.e., E-A-T.
Let me explain…
You can’t rank for certain topics on Google until and unless they are not verified by an expert.
Some of those topics are, healthcare, finance, and legal advice…
So, you must prove that you have expertise in the field and the authority to talk about such topics.
It is one of Google’s ranking factors and affects the ranking of your website.
Make An On-page Strategy
So, you are done with all the important things relevant to your SEO campaign.

Evaluate The Campaign
I would recommend you take notes just after the campaign ends.
- Check it out if the SEO campaign went exactly like what you expected.
- If not, what can you do to improve further?
- Check out if it is copyable.
Of course, you will not remember the data and facts after 2-3 months. So, it is important to note down your findings at the time.
When your SEO campaign going on, it is good to perform weekly check-ups.
